An
aspirant practicing this Pranayama falls into a swoon and he remains in an
unconscious state. Hence this Pranayama is called ‘Moorchchha’.
Procedure for Moorchchha
(Supreme Breath):
- Sit in any comfortable position.
- Inhale through both the nostrils.
- Then practice deep Jalandhar Bandha and hold the breath.
- Then exhale through the nostrils.
Advantages of Moorchchha
(Supreme Breath):
- As the mind remains in an unconscious state, the aspirant experiences spiritual joy.
- Mind and body becomes very light.
- Body fats are removed.
- Headache and weakness of muscles are cured
- This exercise promotes happiness of mind, achievement of bliss and removes lustfulness.
- This Pranayama bring the mind in the profound state of quietude. According to Yogashastra, ‘mana’ (the mind) becomes amana that is non-existent. In other words, it is in communion with the Supreme Power.
